Franklin A Hatstat
A well known farmer of New Salem, died at his home about one mile north of the center, Nov 20, 1910, at the age of 75. He had been in poor health for sometime, but had been able to be around until a few days before his death. Mr Hatstat was a descendant of one of the Hessian soldiers who settled here many years ago. Besides his wife he leaves two sons by a former marriage, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at his home, Nov 22, Rev. Perry Marshall officiating. Burial was in the Center cemetery.
