Little Emil Jewel, the afflicted son of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Schow, died last Saturday night, January 20, 1912. The little sufferer had been quite sick for several days, and his death was not wholly unexpected. However, even when one thinks themself prepared for the worse, when it comes the shock is yet terrible. The little body was laid to rest in the Clifton Cemetery Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, in the presence of a large concourse of friends, the writer, conducting the funeral services.
The many friends of the bereaved family join us in sympathy. Little Jewel will be the more solely missed because he was the object of such constant care while he lived. His helplessness and almost constant suffering entwined him the more closely about the hearts of all the members of the family. Each was quick and willing to administer to his every indicated wish. But to the sorrowing ones let us say that little Jewel is now in the arms of Him who said, "Suffer little children to come unto me," and the suffering, tired little body is no more tortured by pain, instead is cured of every malady by the Great Physician, and basks forever in the sunlight of the blessed presence of the Son of Righteousness. May God bless and comfort by the hope that belongs to the child of God. Soon you will be permitted to meet your loved one again, and nevermore be separated from him. He waits for you. Be patient.- W. J. MAYHEW, pastor.
