CUMBERLAND,MARYLAND - Francis Joseph Weisenmiller, 76, of Allegany County Nursing Home, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, Feb . 11, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born Nov. 23, 1923, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Marguerite (Ackerman) Weisenmiller. He also was preceded in death by three sisters, Rita Delaney, Margaret Sisk and Rosemary Morgan.

Mr. Weisenmiller was a retired plumber and steamfitter, working most of his career out of the Cumberland local union. He was Catholic by faith. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a 1942 graduate of LaSalle High School, and a member of the Cumberland Eagles.

Surviving are one daughter, Leslie Fleming and husband Michael, Keyser, W.Va.; one son, Richard A. Weisenmiller and wife Pam, Ridgeley, W.Va.; four sisters, Helen Terbecki, Dot Bailey and husband Harry, all of Cream Ridge, N.J., Ann Clites, Middlesex, N.J., and Jean Connelley, Cumberland; one brother, John C. Weisenmiller and wife Barbara E., Cumberland; former wife, Edna Weisenmiller, Ridgeley; and four grandchildren, Alisa, Emily, Aaron and Brad.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake will be conducted Sunday at 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Monday at 9 a.m. with Monsignor Thomas R. Bevan as celebrant.

Interment will be in the S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
