Andrew Charles Bridge, son of Andrew and Ann Moss Bridge, was born July 3, 1865 at Salinesville, Ohio, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Hardman, Monday morning, June 4, 1956, at the age of 90 years, 11 months and one day.
He came to Kansas with his parents at the age of 17 years, settling in Wabaunsee County, of which he was a resident from that time except for two years he lived in Kansas City.
He was united in marriage to Henrietta Heinlein, February 26, 1890. She preceded him in death June 7, 1947.
Five children were born to this union, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Laura Weekes, Mrs. Hazel Hardman, Mrs. Nettie Weekes all of Eskridge; Irwin Bridge of Kansas City, and Howard Bridge of Topeka, and one brother, Will Bridge of Topeka.
Mr. Bridge united with the Baptist church at Mission Point, Kansas at an early age and remained faithful to this church until his death.
Besides the five children and one brother, he is survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was a kind and loving father and will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the United Presbyterian Church, in Eskridge, conducted by Rev. Eldon Bennett of Topeka. Vocal music was provided by Mrs. Allen Foose accompanied by Mrs. Grace Loveland at the piano.
Casket bearers were Wallie Schutter, Melvin Hughes, Clifford Gatrost, Cecil Horsley, Henry Iott, and Perry Dallas.
Interment was in the Mission View cemetery with the Austin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
