Sarah Elizabeth (Canada) Savage was the daughter of Green Lee Canada and Nancy Houston. It appears that her year of birth inscribed on her headstone is incorrect; records obtained by Eileen Matzek Davis from the cemetery office records, Fairview Cemetery, Montgomery County, Kansas: Savage, Sarah E; 95yr 8m 30d; Sec M, lot 30, plot 1; Skinner Funeral Home. This would indicate that her date of birth was 1 Jul 1849. Also, the 1850 Federal Census for Baker Township, Morgan County, Indiana, taken 5 Sep 1850, records her age as one year old.
Sarah married Calvin Anderson in Labette County, Kansas on 26 Oct 1868; they later divorced in Nov 1878 in Montgomery County, Kansas. She then married Thomas J. Blaney on 1 Jan 1879 in Coffeyville. She married Ewing S. Savage in Montgomery County, Kansas on 10 Apr 1881, at her father's residence, G. L. Canada.
