Celebration of life services were at 4 p.m. Saturday in Lake Tanglewood Community Church with Dr. Roger Hubbard and the Rev. Doug Gehm officiating. Arrangements were by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Dorothy was born Dec. 17, 1924, in Woodward, Okla., to Ernest Lee Barnett and Mae Erwin Barnett. She graduated from Canyon High School and attended West Texas State University. She was a charter member of Lake Tanglewood Community Church. She was an active 4-H mother and a lifelong resident of Potter and Randall counties.
She had a devout belief in Jesus Christ as her Savior and recently reconfirmed this with her baptism in April 2007. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She was known for her cooking, particularly her awesome desserts. She specialized in cinnamon rolls and cakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include three sons, who were her pride and joy, Gary Fletcher and wife J'Melle of Amarillo, Phil Fletcher and wife Gayla of Claude and Alan Fletcher and Tonya of Clarendon; a brother, Arley Barnett of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her husband, Sam Hunter, and his five children, whom she also loved very much.
The family suggests memorials be to Lake Tanglewood Community Church, 106 Tanglewood Drive, Amarillo, TX 79118; or Grace Church, 4111 Plains Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
