In the 1900 US Census, he married in 1888 (so he has been married for 12 years by then),and still living in the district 16 of Monroe County, Tennessee. In 1910 US Census, he moved to the Civil district 14 of Monroe County, Tennessee and working as a merchant in General Merchandise, was his own employer and renting on a farm. He been married for 21 years to the same wife. In 1920 US Census, he moved to Civil district 4 of Monroe County, Tennessee to Breetown Road and a farmer. In the 1930 US Census he moved again to district 3 of Monroe County, Tennessee to Hiwassee College Road and owned his own home on a farm working on the land on his own account. He was able to speak English, read and write.
