In 1920 she moved in with her son to Morristown, Hamblan County, Tennessee living on 2nd South Street and by 1930 they moved to district 9 in Sevier County, Tennessee living at the Harrison Chilhowee Institute. She spoken English and was able to read and write for all those years. both of her parents were born in Tennessee.
