INEZ-Ages Hunter Davis, 95, of Rt. 3, Warrenton died Thursday, June 17, 1999 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Mrs. Davis was born August 5, 1903 to the late Joseph Fredrick and Mattie Cofield Davis Hunter. Mrs.
Davis was preceded in death by her husband, John Carey Davis.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with burial following in the Davis-Pridgen-Powell family cemetery at Creek.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Burwell D.
Carraway and husband Harold of Raleigh and Elizabeth D. Shearin of Aventon, NC; two sisters, Lula H. Skillman of Durham and Helen H. Brodie of Summerfield; grandson, John Phillip Shearin and wife Sandra of Bloomington, Ill.; two granddaughters, Julia S. Hall and husband Steve, Mary Elizabeth C. Kelly and husband Daniel, all of Raleigh; sisters-in-law, Gertrude H. Hunter of Arcola and Louise K. Hunter of Warrenton.
The family received family and friends at Blaylock Funeral Home on Saturday from 7 -8:30 p.m.
