She was born Aug. 7, 1902, in Scottsville, Ky., and had resided in Lafayette since 1941, coming from Boswell. She was a homemaker.
She was first married to Virgil Hinton who died in 1932.
In 1936, she married William Gatrell in St. Anne, IL., and he died Nov. 24, 1971.
Surviving are a son, Gobel Hinton (wife: Luella) of Lafayette; and two great-nephews whom she raised, Vernon Graves (wife: Phyllis) of Lafayette and Don Ponto (wife: Pam) of West Lafayette; and a granddaughter, Shirley Drake (husband: Charles) of Lafayette.
Preceded by 2 sisters, 2 brothers and, a great-nephew whom she raised, William Clark.
