Funeral services will be Friday in Sikeston for a Cape Girardeau resident's brother who died with his wife during a Christmas Eve fire at their Rock Island, Ill. home.
The Rev. Edward Eftink will conduct last rites in Nunnelee Funeral Chapel for Adam L. Oliver, 57 years old, a former Sikeston resident. Burial is to be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Adam is the brother of Mrs. Frances V. Clark of Cape Girardeau.
Joint services were scheduled for today at Rock Island for Mr. and Mrs. Oliver. Mrs. Oliver was to be buried there. Both died during a fire that destroyed their home.
Mr. Oliver was born Oct. 5, 1910, in Princeton, Ky. He was a federal government employee. He was reared mainly in southeast Missouri.
Surviving are four brothers, Eugene Oliver, Caleb Oliver, Emory Oliver and O. M. Oliver; three sisters, Mrs. Francis V. Clark, Mrs. Ida Wallace and Mrs. Birdie Chaney.
The Olivers had no children.
