Madras resident Cyrus "Bus" Alexander died Feb. 20, 2008, at the age of 84.
Mr. Alexander was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Gresham to parents Cyrus and Alma (Larson) Alexander. He attended Gresham High School, and served in the Navy Seabees during World War II.
On June. 27, 1943, he married Dorothy Dayton in Vancouver, Wash. He was a rancher and also worked as a millwright.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, VFW, United Methodist Church, and was involved with 4-H. His special interests included wood working, hunting, fishing and being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his sons, Larry Alexander of Boring, Neil Alexander of Oregon City, and Kent Alexander of Madras; daughter, Charlene Kline of Bend; brother, Dick Alexander of Gresham; sister, Lois Sibaruim of Stockton, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and sister, Suzie Faubion.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Feb. 29, at the Madras United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
