Robert N. Kehr
Robert N. Kehr, 72, of Trenton, passed away in his home on May 6, 1998.
He was born June 16, 1925 in Cambridge, to Nicholas Kehr and Julia (Nollette) Kehr.
Mr. Kehr graduated from Valentine High School in Valentine in 1942 and entered the United States Army in 1944 where he served his country during World War II. He received his honorable discharge in 1946. In 1947, Mr. Kehr entered the banking profession in Kilgore, where he was employed by Farmers State Bank. In 1949, he married Faye Hoffman in Kilgore. In 1963 he and his family moved to Gordon, where he served as vice president of the Gordon State Bank. In 1976, Mr. Kehr and his family moved to Stratton, where he was the president of Commercial Bank. In 1986 he accepted a position with State Bank of Trenton where he was employed until his retirement in 1995.
Mr. Kehr was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, and a lifelong member of the VFW and American Legion in Trenton and Cody.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Francis; sister, Irene Estes; infant brother, James; and brothers Dick Kehr and John Kehr.
Those who survive him include his wife, Faye, of Trenton; children Janet Hart of Boulder, CO, Joyce Majors and husband Bill of Elk City, OK, Jerry Kehr and wife Carol of Lincoln, Jean Reyes and husband Ed of Gering, Jill Urban and husband Jim of Ellis, KS; brother Donald E. Kehr and wife Nora of North Platte; 11 grandchildren and two great-grancchildre; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Rosary was held May 8, 1998, at 7:30 p. m. at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton.
The funeral Mass was celebrated may 9, 1998 at 9:30 a. m. at St. James Catholic Church with REV. Philip Luther, Celebrant. Interment followed at Nenzel Cemetery, in Nenzel.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to the St. James Catholic Church, or the Knight of Columbus Building, Benkelman.
Jones Funeral Home in Stratton is in charge of arrangements.
