Joshua Knight Adams born in Canterbury, Connecticut, January 1, 1791 died Harford, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, February 7, 1876 He taught for twenty years at the Franklin Academy, later Harford University, Harford, Pennsylvania; also a talented cabinet maker, mortician. He married first, Peddy Wilmarth Tiffany, daughter of Sgt. Hosea Tiffany & Anna Wilmarth; and secondly married Minerva Follett. By his two wives he left fifteen children, and thousands of descendants scattered throughout the United States. Joshua K. Adams, was a member of the Masonic fraternity, and served four years as Sheriff of Susquhanna County, Pennsylvania. He is buried with his two wives in the cemetery at Harford, Pennsylvania.
