Charles (Carl) Anderson arrived in New York City from Sweden on 29 June 1869. He would eventually settle in Watson, Allegan, Michigan where he became a farmer and raised his family. Charles was one of the charter members of the old Swedish Lutheran Church and donated the land for this cemetery grounds.
