Tanner was born on November 28, 1990 and grew up loving sports, excelling in any sport he participated in including basketball, soccer, snowboarding and bowling. Most recently he could be found at a golf course working on his swing. One of his proudest moments on the course came a month ago when he shot a hole-in-one. His many years in sports were shared with his family, including his Father who was his biggest fan. Whether coaching or simply being on the sidelines, all could see the bond they shared, as they were much closer than Father and Son, they were friends. Tanner was proud to say his Dad was his hero. When Tanner wasn't out golfing or spending time with his family, his summer days were being filled hanging out with his buddies at the river or trying to find the perfect location for skimboarding. In the winter, when the river was dry, he could often be found on the slopes snowboarding with his big Sister Kayla. Tanner and Kayla possessed a special relationship and he will always be her "Number one pick". A natural jokester, Tanner had the gift to make anyone around him laugh. With his silly made up raps and rhymes, he was sure to put a smile on anyone's face, especially his 5-year old Nephew, Blake, who idolized him.
About to enter his junior year of high school, Tanner will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him, especially his parents, brother, sisters, niece and nephews. We find comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior and that we will be with him again one day. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Jean Houk and his maternal grandparents Deroy and Ruth Williams.
Tanner is survived and will never be forgotten by, his loving parents, Rick and Cindy Houk, Sister Kayla Houk, Sister Denise Peters and her husband Bobby, Brother Kurt Fritts and his wife Amy, Nephews Blake Allen Peters, Tyler Martin Peters, Tristan Benjamin Fritts, and one Niece Emily Janae Peters. He is also survived by his Paternal Grandfather, Joe Houk, as well as numerous loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
