Marvin Newell Aldous, 80, of Blackfoot, died Thursday, July 11, 1996 of causes due to age, at the Bingham Memorial Extended Care Facility. He was born May 27 1916 in Sterling, the son of John Henry and Emily Charlotte Berlin Aldous. He lived in Sterling most of his life and graduated from Aberdeen High School.
He Married Ileen Jolley on 21 November 1951 in Sterling. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1957. She preceded him in death in 1982. He married Gwenith Moore on December 2 1983 in Sussex, England. She preceded him in death on 23 June 1995.
He moved to Blackfoot in 1984. He served in France in the US Army during World War 11. He was a member of the LDS Church and served a Temple Mission in the Crawley, Sussex, England mission. He also served as a sealer for many years in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was a lifetime farmer on the family farm in Grandview, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Moose Club. He loved to work, especially in the garden. He also enjoyed woodwork crafts and making clocks.
He is survived by one son, Walter (Wally) and wife Cheryl Aldous of Blackfoot; one stepson, La Var Moore of Blackfoot; two step daughters, Rhea Jean Jorgensen of Blackfoot and Diane Pratt of Twin Falls; two sisters, Nelean Phillips of Washington and Laura Nitsos of California; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives; two brothers, Joe Aldous and Charles Aldous; two sisters, Lois Aldous and Elma Stevens.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 16 at 1pm at the Lakeview LDS Church with Bishop David Wahlen of the Lakeview Ward conducting. Burial was in the Springfield Cemetery.
