Charles Edward Arnold, age 67, well known former resident 5 ½ miles southwest of Kouts, died Sunday morning at 2:10 o'clock, following a six years' illness of diabetes. He had been bedfast for the last two months.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 25, 1867, a son of George and Sarah (Ambrose) Arnold, but had lived in Porter County for many years.
On February 25, 1896, he was united in marriage to Miss Lodema Brody. To this union was born one son, George William, who died in infancy. The widow survives.
Several years ago he was united with the Boone Grove Christian church. He is also affiliated with the Modern Woodmen Camp, No. 8750, at Boone Grove.
Memorial services will be held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, standard time, conducted by Rev. M. G. Long, of the Boone Grove Christian church. Charles H. Stinchfield, of this city will be in charge. Burial will be in the Cornell cemetery. Friends are requested to omit flowers.
