Mattie M. Kilmon, 92, of Rt. 3, Montross, widow of Ira W. Kilmon, died on Saturday, February 2, 1991 at her residence. Mrs. Kilmon was a member of Edgewater United Methodist Church, Tidwells. Surviving are a son, Berkley Kilmon of Montross; two daughters, Mrs. Mae Packett and Mrs. Audrey Turner, both of Montross, and a brother Lester King of Montross; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, at Carmel United Methodist Church, Kinsale with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Clem Matheny and the Rev. Albert Crockett officiated.
Pallbearers were Everett Bryant, Robert Tracey Turner, Allan Turner, Robert Wayne Kilmon, Sam Kilmon, J.B. Bryant.
Rodney Minor, David Minor, Steven Minor, Dawn Minor, Brian Minor, Stacey Day Kilmon, Amy Lynn Kilmon, Diannia Kilmon, Bridget Bryant and Sherry Turner, all great-grandchildren of Mrs. Kilmon, served as Honorary pallbearers.
