Mahala [Malone] Whitley was born October 24, 1814, in Smith Co., TN, the daughter of James & Elizabeth [Scrivner] Malone. Mahala married Josiah S. Whitley of Smith Co., TN, and never remarried after Josiah's death in 1839. Mahala died on November 7, 1891. She is buried in the Foutch family plot.
