Marian was the daughter of E.T. Henerey & Julia Mellard.

She died of typhoid as an infant at the home of her maternal Grandfather Joel Poinsette Mellard, MD. His home was on what is now the site of the Dorchester County Library. (info from her aunt, Mary G., 3/1/2010)
