LAVA HOT SPRINGS - Farrell Park Rowsell, 89, passed away Friday, May 26, 2000, east of Soda Springs as a result of an auto accident. Mr. Rowsell was born April 17, 1911, in West Jordon, Utah, the son of James Albert and Cora Park Rowsell.

Farrell married Hattie Welch on August 10, 1932. Mrs. Rowsell passed away on Feb. 15, 2000.

He was educated in Lava schools, graduating from high school in Lava Hot Springs in 1929. He also graduated in auto mechanics from Idaho State College in 1936. He purchased a farm in 1937 on Dempsey Creek where he farmed and then added another Dempsey Creek Farm and also a farm on Fish Creek.

He was a member of the Lava Hot Springs LDS Ward and had served in the high bishopric in the 1940s and 1950s.

He is survived by three sons, Dean Rowsell of Las Vegas, Nev; Bruce Rowsell of Omaha, Neb; and Warren Rowsell of Wellsville, Utah.

He also is survived by 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Clarence Rowsell of Salt Lake City, Utah, Willis Rowsell of Grace, and Joe Rowsell of Lava Hot Springs.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nola Roberts of Aberdeen.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, June 1, 2000, at the Lava Hot Springs LDS chapel. Burial was in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home of Soda Springs.
