Mary R. Luxenberger, 82, formerly of Edgewood, Md., died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Wesley Jenkins and Margaret Erdman Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Seward.
Mrs. Luxenberger was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Ocean Pines, VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Ocean City and an active member of the Ocean City Senior Center.
Mrs. Luxenberger is survived by her husband, Clarence Luxenberger; one son, Christopher Luxenberger and wife, Claudia, of Forest Hill, Md.; three daughters, Mary Susan Sokolis and James of Bel Air, Md., Cathleen Davenport and husband, Thomas, of Ocean Pines and Carol Giddings and husband, Ronald, of Chester, Va; one sister, Margaret Howser of Pikesville, Md.; son-in-law, Jay Seward;16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild and another great-grandchild due in December.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Ocean Pines on Friday at 11 a.m. Friends may call at Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Right to Life Committee, 512 10th St. N.W. Washington, DC 20004.
