Ellna M. Gooding, 91, of Panama City, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Gooding was born in Campbell, MO, and lived in Panama City since 1963. She was a military wife to her late husband, Edgar L. Gooding, and traveled with him across the United States and to Newfoundland. Mrs. Gooding enjoyed flowers, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Cove Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband and youngest son, Edgar P. Gooding.
Survivors include her children, Thomas A. Arnold, Sr. and wife Sheila of Marianna; Cecilia A. Miley and husband Bob of Houston, TX and Carolyn Patterson and husband Daniel of Panama City; her grandchildren, Charlotte, Tommy, Teresa, Michael, Barbara and Alex; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Gooding's name may be made to either Covenant Hospice or to the Panama City Rescue Mission.
