Death of Louis Guerich

Mr. Louis Guerich, aged 80 years, died yesterday morning at 2 o'clock at his home, corner of First and Ferry streets, after an illness of several months, of Bright's disease, although he had only been confined to his bed for two weeks.

Mr. Guerich was one of our oldest and most highly respected German citizens. He came to this country in 1854 and resided in Madison most of the time following his trade, that of a cooper, until a few years ago, when failing health compelled him to quit work. He leaves a widow and nine children, all grown, to mourn his death. His children who are here are: Peter, from St. Louis; Louis, from Evansville; Henry, Joe, Mrs. Annie Grayler, and Mrs. Katie Hertz of Louisville; Mary Eisler and Rosa Wilde, Cincinnati, and Mrs. Lizzie Dugle, of Rising Sun.

The funeral will occur Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Mary's church.
