CLYDE DALE ALLMAN

The death of Clyde Dale Allman, of Alum Bridge, occurred at the home of his Parents, Albert and Lydia (Batten) Allman, at 2 p.m. on August 31. Mr. Allman, who was 37 years of age, had suffered with stomach trouble for two or three years, and recently made an unsuccessful effort to recover health through fasting. He was a man of 190 pounds before his illness, but reduced to ninety pounds.

Mr. Allman was a close and persistent student of nature, and spent much of his time in field and woods, noting the haunts and habits of birds and other creatures of the wild. Surrounded by the boys of the community he sometimes stayed out late of nights studying nature, and thus he instilled in others inquiry into the natures of our fellow creatures of the lower orders.

The funeral of the deceased was held at 10 o'clock this morning. The religious services was conducted by Rev. Mr. Howell, of the Troy Methodist Episcopal Church, and Modern Woodman had charge. The body was laid to rest at the Woofter burying ground on Leading Creek.

Both Parents of the deceased survive, as do one Brother and one Sister, Kasper Kimball Allman, of Auburn, and Daisy, wife of H.E. Hartley, of Alum Bridge.
