She was born December 16, 1895.
On August 21, 1915, she married Roy L Metzler. They lived on a farm north of Wakarusa. Mr Metzler died February 17, 1983. Mrs. Metzler had resided at Timbercrest since 1973.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs P E (Evelyn) Zumbrun of Columbia City and Mrs Z M (Mary) Blickenstaff of Chapman Lake; one sister, Edna Lineback of Lakeville; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
One sister is deceased.
Mrs Metzler was an avid quilter, dress maker, crocheter, homemaker and church worker. While living in South Bend she served as overseas relief chairman with Church Women United and brought the Northern Indiana Church of the Brethren Choir to South Bend to present The Messiah for Sunday evening service. This work brought her radio and television appearances. She was also her husband’s secretary with State Farm Insurance, and took over the office when he became ill.
Services will be 10 am Wednesday at Timbercrest Chapel. The Rev Mark Flora Swick and the Rev Lester Young will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester. Memorials may be given to the Timbercrest Retirement Community.
