OSAGE CITY—Grace Gladys Ford, Osage City, died July 2, 2013, at Peterson Nursing Home, Osage City. She was 106. She was born Nov. 18, 1906, at Seneca, the daughter of Louis and Alvina Hanz Schuneman. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Osage City First United Methodist Church and served on the membership committee, the San Genes Club and Gad-Abouts. She loved her family and enjoyed the times they shared together. She gardened and canned the fruits of her labor. She like to crochet, knit, quilt and enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge.
She married Harry C. Ford, Aug. 1, 1925, at Sabetha. They moved to Osage City in 1929. He preceded her in death. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Harry C. Ford Jr. and his wife, Naomi; and Charles L. Ford; her parents; five brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Gladys Reid and her husband, Lewis, Salina; daughter-in-law, Donna Ford, Kansas City; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were July 6 at First United Methodist Church, Osage City. Burial followed at Osage City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Osage City First United Methodist Church and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
