Sadly, Betty Jean Barnhart, 65, of Follansbee, died peacefully in her sleep at her home on Saturday December 6, 2008. She was born Betty Jean Sampson on March 13, 1943 in Cameron, WV. She is preceeded in death by her parents, William and Allie Blake Sampson and her husband, Lewis "Barney" Barnhart in May of 1991. She worked at the former Isaly's in Weirton, WV. Betty liked to write poetry and she worked crossword puzzles in her spare time. Betty was a very devoted and loving mother. Sadly left behind are one son, Christopher Kimball of Satellite Beach, FL Two daughters, Bunnie Wohnhas (Ray) of Follansbee, WV. Betty Lockhart (Jason) of Follansbee, WV. One Step-son, Lewis Barnhart of Melbourne, FL and three Step-daughters, Terrie Barnhart and Marcia Barnhart, both of Mingo Jct., OH. Cindy Barber (Frank) of Coats, NC. Six Brothers, William Sampson of Brilliant, OH; George Sampson (Sharon), Toronto, OH; James Sampson (Melissa) and Michael Sampson both of Follansbee, WV. Sam Sampson (Esther) Steubenville, OH and Robert Sampson (Gina) of Clayton, NC. Three Sisters, Barbara Bailey (Cecil) and Sue Kimball (Don) both of Steubenville, OH. Bonnie McConnell (Charles) of Atwater, OH. She leaves behind 19 Grandchildren: Savannah, Rusty, Devon, Jacob, Tiffanie, Sasha, Lewis, Joe, Josh, Kyle, John, Elizabeth, J.D., Christina, Amber, Bub, Justin, Kimberly, and Kayla. Along with one great-grandson, David. She will be dearly missed by her two loving pets, Bear and Oreo. Friends wwere received on Monday, December 8, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. and again on Tuesday December 9, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the James Funeral Home 1245 Main Street Follansbee, WV where services were held on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Johnathan Absher, minister officiating. Entombment followed in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens.
