Services Held at Ramsey Church for Mrs. Henry Gray
Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Gray, 81, were held Saturday, November 22 at 1:30 pm at the Ramsey Reformed Church with Rev. John Janssen officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Richard Beenken, organist and Mrs. Lawrence Heyer and Mrs. Roger Rippentrop.
Interment was in the Buffalo Township Cemetery near Titonka. Serving as casket attendants were her grandsons, Melvin Gray, Royce Gray, Ronald Gray, Verlyn Ubben, Kenneth Ubben and Terry Schutjer. Blake Funeral Home of Titonka was in charge of arrangements.
Grace Gray, daughter of Folkert and Gretje Naber Huisman was born on October 8, 1888 at Ackley, Iowa. She passed away at her home neat Titonka, Iowa on Wednesday evening, November 19 after a lingering illness and her death was due to a stroke. She attained the age of 81 years, 1 month and 11 days.
On December 30, 1908 she was united in marriage to Henry Gray at Kamrar, Iowa. They lived near Kamrar until the spring of 1914, when they moved to the vicinity of Titonka. This union was blessed with 10 children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two infant sons, one daughter, Dorothy. She leaves to mourn seven children, Henry, Jr., and Fred of Titonka, Elmer of Buffalo Center, Leonard, Mervin and Viola of Titonka and Irene, Mrs. John Ubben of Buffalo Center, 22 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, three brothers, Klaas of Ackley, Neint of Litchfield, Minnesota and Sam of Hillsdale, Wisconsin and two sisters Mrs. G. W. Naber of Atwater, Minnesota and Mrs. Sadie Gray of Titonka. Besides there were many other relatives and friend who mourn her departure.
