Christina was the youngest child of the William MacDonald family. She and her brother, John Swan, were the only two of eight children that were born in the United States. She made a profession of faith in September of 1894 and belong to the Christian Church. "Tena" as she was always called, was a devoted wife and mother. She was ill for a long period of time and died from consumption at the age of 27y, 2m, 18d. The songs she selected for her funeral were "Blessed Assurance" and "Beautiful River".
