Pearl Elizabeth (Petty) Guynn, of Ocala, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. Pearl (along with her twin brother, Earl) was born on January 15, 1924 in Argyle, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence W. “Bud” Guynn, her four brothers, Earl Petty, Vernon Petty, Royce Lewis, E.L. Lewis, and one sister, Pauline Brown. She retired from Munroe Regional Medical Center after a long career as a nursing assistant. Following retirement, she continued her passion as a loving caregiver to many others, well into her 80's. Pearl has been a member of Sparr Baptist Church for more than 50 years and a life-time member of V.F.W. Post 4209. She loved a houseful of company and rarely missed an opportunity for a social outing. Pearl loved church, family, friends, and her weekly water aerobics classes. She is survived by sons, Clarence “Buddy” Guynn (Linda), Victor Guynn (Betty), Rodney Guynn (Ceci), David Guynn (Gail) and Timothy Guynn (fiancé, Brenda Booher). She also leaves behind a legacy of 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Sparr Baptist Church.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery (immediate family members only, please). The family would like to express heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Hospice of Marion County; Brenda Booher, and Tom and Dolly Riley, caregivers.
