Enrolled 29 April, 1861 at Boons Hill, Lincoln County, Tennessee. Mustered in at Lynchburg, Virginia on June 8, 1861. Transfered into artillery company (unknown unit). Wounded at Gaines Mill, Virginia 27 June 1862; still absent as wounded to November and December 1862; present March and April 1863 to November and December 1864. Surrendered at Appomattox.

He moved to Texas about 1877. His Texas CSA pension was approved on September 1, 1913. Member of the Ben McCulloch United Confederate Veterans UCV Camp #30, Driftwood, Hays County, Texas.

Died at the Austin, Texas Confederate Veterans Home.
