Joseph Elmer Alger, 15, son of Holly Alger of Bagley, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 1995, in a fire at Roy Lake Lodge, near Mahnomen, Minn.

Joseph Elmer Alger was born May 27, 1980, in Minneapolis, the son of Carman Johnson and Holly Alger. He attended school in Minneapolis before moving to the Mahnomen area in 1992. He attended school in Mahnomen for a year and was a ninth-grade student in Bagley Junior High School at the time of his death.

He is survived by his mother; father, Duluth; sister, Amanda, Bagley; grandparents, Thelma VanValkenburgh, Mahnomen, and the Rev. Gerald and Sue Alger, Cass Lake, Minn.; and stepgrandfather, Jeff Portas, Mahnomen.

Services:2 p.m. Wednesday in Samuel Memorial Episcopal Guild Hall, Naytahwaush.

Visitation:After 6 p.m. today in the guild hall.

Burial:Samuel Memorial Episcopal Cemetery, Naytahwaush.
