Born Nov. 14, 1933, in Bragg City, Mo., son of the late Lawrence and Marie Evett Cecil, he was employed at Dunagan Distributing.
On April 14, 1966, in Caruthersville, Mo., he married Claudette Curtis, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Michael and Danny Cecil and Guy Tate; one daughter, Shonna Lackey; eight sisters and three brothers.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Cecil and Charlotte Tate.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caruthersville with Father Randolph Tochtrop officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Ronnie, Christopher, Brad and David Cecil, Terry Swinger and Mark Littleton.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
