CHILDERS, Rufus 33, of Millersport, OH, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008. Rufus was a native of Dayton, OH and had lived there most of his life. He believed in the Pentecostal faith. Rufus was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and son. He shared his love of the outdoors with his children and close family. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Bill and Mary Ruth Blake Childers; grandparents, Bill and Willa Mae Long Childers; Rufus and Oma Blake; a sister, Catherine Childers; a niece, Jennifer Rue; an aunt, Lorene Webb; and an uncle, Fred Childers. Survivors include his wife, Angel Wall Childers, Millersport, OH; five children, Jacob Childers, Marcus Childers, Lucas Childers, Alexander Childers, and Nathan Childers, all of Millersport, OH; six sisters, Mary Moncrief, Dayton, OH; Anna OLaughlin, Moraine, OH; Sharon McPherson, Trotwood, OH; Dianne Smith, Dayton, OH; Lisa Swankhaus, Kettering, OH; and Tena Demaree, Pickerington, OH; two brothers, Bill Childers, Batavia, OH and Zebedee Childers, Dayton, OH; eleven nephews, seven nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 5-8pm Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Tri City Funeral Home in Benham. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Sunday, November 23, 2008 in the Chapel of Tri City Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Back officiating. Interment will follow in Blake Family Cemetery at Big Rock, KY. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be left at www.harlanobits.net. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Rufus Childers Memorial Fund at any Fifth Third Bank. The family wishes to thank everyone for their kindness and prayers during this time.
