Southern Democrat obit, May 1963:

Arthur Teaman Mize, 57, of Route 2, Attalla passed away May 13 in a Gadsden hospital after an illness of several months. A native of Randolph County and a resident of Etowah County some twenty years, he had resided in Blount County for several years. Son of Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Mize of Route 2, Oneonta, he was a member of Red Hill Methodist Church, AMOS, Odd Fellows Lodge and Peace Officers Association. He was a retired civil service employee of Air Service Depot. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Mrs. Iris Dean Mize, four sons, George of Attalla, Alvin of the U.S. Navy, Earl of Houston, Texas, Hoyt of Gadsden. One Daughter, Mrs. Barbara Clark of Gadsden, 13 grandchildren, five sisters, Mrs. Minor Davenport of Altoona, Mrs. Icie Prucenal of Rt 2 Oneonta, Mrs. Minnie Harris of Attalla, Mrs. Rosie Chastain of Gadsden, Mrs. Dolly Thompson of Galveston, TX. Two brothers, Marvin Mize of Rt 2 Oneonta, Bill Mze of Oneonta. Funeral services were held May 15 at 2:30 at Red Hill Methodist Church at Ivalee, with Revs. Joe Moore, J.D. Hewitt and Corbie Yother officiating. Interment was in Red Hill Cemetery, Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge. Active pallbearers were Bruce Haggard, Claude Cagle, W.R. McGee, Lenford Sims, Robert Bennett and Chester Kirby.
