Jessie Hazel Smith was born Jessie Hazel Grenier on Jan. 5, 1919 in Washington state. She married William Wesley Smith on May 25, 1937. They moved to Idanha, Oregon in 1951 where they made a home and she remained a homemaker. To this union five children were born, Frances, Margaret, William Jr, Richard, and Robert. Her husband passed away in 1968. She moved to Hubbard, Oregon in 1981. She was survived by her sons, William (LuAnn) Smith of Cottage Grove, OR, Richard (Okla) Smith of Naches Washington, Robert (Linea) Smith of Madras, Oregon; daughter Frances Stauffer of Woodburn, Oregon; brothers Richard Grenier of Alberta, Canada and Larry Grenier of Corvallis, Oregon; and sisters, Yvonne Clayton of Hawthorne, Nevada, Louise Powell of Salem, and Ruth Shelton of Alberta and numerous grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her husband William, daughter Margaret Kelley, and sister Phyillis.
