.Jennifer Marie Carroll
Jennifer Marie Carroll, 26, of Richmond, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Jennifer was born Feb. 4, 1982 in Iola, Kan., the daughter of Steven J. Carroll and Mary Beth Edwards; they survive of the home. Jennifer was a certified medical technician and a certified nurse's assistant at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Richmond. A 2001 graduate of Richmond High School, Jennifer lived most of her life in Richmond.
In addition to her parents, survivors include: one daughter, Ashlee Izabella Carroll, of the home; two brothers, Adam J. Carroll of Kansas City, Mo., and Kyle M. Carroll of the home; two sisters, Marcy E. Carroll of Kansas City and Molly S. Carroll of Richmond; one niece, Madelynn L. Boguskie; paternal grandparents, Paul and Peg Beech of Iola, Kan., and Bill Carroll of Stockton, Mo.; and maternal grandparents, John and Evelyn L. Edwards of Carrollton.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ashlee Izabella Carroll Education Fund.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 12, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Richmond. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.

Icy roads claim the life of Richmond woman
Dangerous roads kept local law enforcement busy


A Richmond woman died in a car crash around 5:14 p.m. Tuesday in Richmond.
Jennifer Carroll, 26, was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. at Ray Memorial County Hospital.

A 5-year-old passenger in Carroll's vehicle was also transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. The accident occured as Carroll was driving eastbound on Highway 10, just east of the Wellington Street overpass, when her 2000 Ford Taurus lost control and crossed the center line into the westbound traffic. Carroll was not wearing a seat belt.
She struck a 2005 Chevy Impala driven by Joshua Paige, 29, of Richmond. He refused treatment at the scene. Paige slammed on his brakes in an attempt to avoid the collision.
His injury was a broken toe from braking and was wearing a seat belt.
The Richmond Police Department is handling the investigation. Ray County Sheriff's Department and the Ray County Ambulance aided in the accident.

Jennifer was a beautiful, loving outgoing person and she had a beautiful smile and personality. She loved life, she loved her daughter, and loved her family. She loved hanging out with her friends and having fun. She will be greatly missed and always be remembered by all her friends and her family.
