On a DAR Application for Membership dated 10 December 1918, the following is stated: David Colver, son of Nathaniel Colver was a soldier in the Revolution. Both were in the battle of Stillwater, September, 1777 and at Saratoga, in the charge at Champion Hill. He also served against the Indians in Western New York until the close of the war. He drew a pension at the time of his death (1847).
