James Alfred "J.A." Devall, Jr., a resident of Prairieville, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was 73 and a native of Baton Rouge.

He is survived by three sisters, Yvonne Devall, Betty Watts and Beulah Arceneaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth Devall; two brothers, Billy and Wilson Devall; and three sisters, Myrtie Devall, Alice Yoes and Rosetta Brantley.

Mr. Devall was a faithful member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Baton Rouge and as such the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the church's building fund at 2828 Jones Creek Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70818.
