John Leslie Byram, 70, of 217 No. Ward, died at St. Joseph Hospital at 7:10 a.m. today following a short illness.
He was the son of George and Minerva Cramblit Byrum and was born Oct. 12, 1893 near Chillicothe. He was a member of the Willard Street Methodist Church.
His marriage to Vivian Ringo took place May 15, 1946 in Ottumwa. She survives.
Also surviving are one brother, J.S. Byrum of Ottumwa; three sisters, Mrs. Leora Moore and Mrs. Bessie Miller both of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Ruth Warner of Blakesburg Route 1 and several nieces and nephews.
Proceeding him in death was a brother, Marshall.
The service will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in charge of the funeral is Rev. David W. Ash of the Willard Street Methodist Church. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
