He was the son of Mason and Dolly Bethurem Arter. He attended Vanoss schools. He married Louise Vina Estes on April 14, 1942. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2002 at Ada. Mr. Arter retired as a Packer at Ideal Cement where he worked from 1946 until 1984. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the 349th Infantry Company L. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and six brothers, Remus Arter, Ray Arter, Alvin Arter, Otto Arter, Luther Arter, and Claude Arter. Services will be Monday, Dec. 15 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Arter officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
