John F. Arnold, 76, Englewood, died April 14, 2001, in McComb, Ohio. He was born February 2, 1925, in Leipsic, Ohio, and retired in 1985 from Dow Chemical in Ludington, Michigan. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served from 1943 to 1946 in the Pacific theater. He was a member of McComb Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9231 and Englewood Elks Lodge. Survivors include three sons, Michael of Van Buren, Ohio, Rick of Deshier, Ohio, and Ed of Ludington; a daughter, Debra Dingledine of McComb; a brother, Fred of Findlay, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be later in Englewood. Burial will be in Gulf Pine Memorial Park, Englewood. Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate, Ohio, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

John F. Arnold, 76, of Englewood, Florida, died Saturday, April 14 at the home of his daughter in McComb, Ohio. He was born in Lepisic, Ohio, on February 2, 1925, to Harry and Ocie (Meyers) Arnold. On March 11, 1948, he married Reta Louise Peckinpaugh, who preceded him in death on August 16, 1998. Survivors include sons, Michael of Van Buren, Rick of Deshler and Ed of Ludington; a daughter, Debra Dingledine of McComb; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Fred of Findlay, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Arnold, and a sister, Wonta Robinson. Mr. Arnold was employed at the Dow Chemical Plant of Findlay and later at the Ludington plant, where he retired in 1985. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving from 1943 to 1946 in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the McComb VFW Post 9231 and a member of the Englewood Florida Elks Lodge. Memorial services for Mr. Arnold will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, McComb, Ohio, with the Rev. Linda Zaye officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in the Gulf Pine Memorial Park of Englewood, Florida. Additional memorial services will also be held at a later date in Englewood. Memorial contributions may be directed toward a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are through the Snyder Funeral Home of Holgate, Ohio.
