NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Entered into the presence of God Sunday, December 14th, 2008, Mr. Edward Ashley Boyd, Sr., beloved husband of sixty-six years to Lizzie Ella Smith Boyd and son of the late Henry and Florence Reville Boyd. Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, he retired from Clearwater Finishing Plant and also did construction work. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt. Brother Boyd rededicated his life to the Lord earlier this year and was a member of Langley Church of God. He is survived by his children, Wayne Boyd, (Ruth) Bay St. Louis, MS, Donnie Boyd, (Ruby) Trenton, SC, William Howard Boyd, (the late Alma) Langley, SC, Barbara Boyd Cosnahan, North Augusta, SC, and Shelby Giacobone, (Francis) Bath, SC; sister, Maedell Barber, (Bob) Bath, SC; grandchildren, Richard Boyd, Cherokee Boyd, Sandy Cosnahan, Dewayne Cosnahan, Eddie Boyd, Donna Boyd, Donald Boyd, Ashley Boyd, II., Joey Robinson, Todd Robinson, and Brian Giacobone, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters, and a grandson, Terry Cosnahan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 16th, 2008, at noon at Langley Church of God, Langley, SC, with Bishops Benny Burton and James Wiley officiating. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery, Langley, SC. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Toole, Travis Wheat, Gerald Johnson, Shawn Powers, Mike Toole, and Donald Toole. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Langley Church of God Men's Bible Class, Tommy Smith and Jeremiah McFall. The family has asked that if so desired, memorials be made to Langley Church of God, P.O. Box 797 Langley, SC 29834. Friends may call at the family residence. The family will greet friends tonight from 6 until 8 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, S.C.
