Moved to Onalaska, Wisc in 1855.
Elected as a Democrat to the legislature in 1868 and 1878 He was called "Colonel".

Founder of the Village of Dresbach, Minnesota.
Came to Minnesota in 1850 Paid $50,000.00 to buy the land that became Dresbach.
His brother "Herr Dresbach" was a famous lion tamer in the P.T. Barnum circus.
