While visiting his son, Dr. Fred Davenport, of Scranton, Samuel Davenport, aged 86, on of Plymouth’s oldest residents, passed away. His death was unexpected & he was apparently enjoying excellent health before leaving on the visit.
Mr. Davenport’s life was spent mostly within the borough. He was engaged in various business enterprises & took an active part in municipal affairs until recent years.
His wife and the following children survive: Stanley I. Davenport of Centre Ave, Harry Davenport of Wilkes-Barre; Dr. Fred Davenport of Scranton; Arthur Davenport of Dorranceton; Miss Blanche Davenport, teacher in the Edwardsville schools; Mrs. Stull of Alderson and Thomas Davenport of Plymouth.
