KEIZER — Vernon M. Bantsari, 63, died Friday of cancer of the esophagus.
He was born in Lebanon and served in the Marine Corps for five years in Korea. He moved to Salem in 1958 and to Keizer in 1979. He worked for the Oregon State Hospital for 36 years and Del Monte Corporation for 22 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and flowers.
Survivors include two sons, Kent of Juneau, Alaska, and Brent of Reno, Nev.; twin daughters, Lisa Warren and Robin Large, both of Salem; daughter, Jennifer Wilson of Enumclaw, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Virgil T. Golden Chapel. Interment will be private.
