She was born on February 24, 1944 in Centerview, Missouri, the daughter of Carl Clifford Jones and Viva Grace (Slack) Jones. She was raised north of Holden and graduated from Holden High School.
On September 7, 1963, she married William Vaughn Austin in Elm Springs, Missouri, where they built their home and raised three children.
Judy's career was primarily in the banking industry, in which, she worked for 40 years. She retired in 2010 from the Bank of Holden and she continued to work part time at F&C Bank.
She was a member of the Elm Springs Baptist Church and a member of the Holden VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Judy enjoyed crafting, gardening, and playing bingo with friends. However, she received the most enjoyment laughing and playing with her granddaughter Kyndal Austin and spending time with her family and friends.
Judy leaves behind her three children: her oldest son, Lenny Austin and his wife, Jo, of Holden, Missouri; her daughter, Lisa (Austin) Hammond and husband Roland Hammond of Holden, Missouri; youngest son, William Austin and fiancé Shelby "Missy" Polen of Pittsville, Missouri and the light of Judy's life, granddaughter, Kyndal. She also leaves a sister, Betty Garrett, of Oak Grove, Missouri; two brothers Gary Jones and wife Myrtle of Holden, Missouri; and Jack Jones and wife Shirley of Arlington, Texas; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 1988 (1982); both parents, and her sister, Donna Sue (Jones) Borer.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Elm Springs Baptist Church, north of Kingsville with Pastor Robin Dale officiating.
Interment will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery.
