Anna Gully Hicks was born October 29, 1872, in Shuqualak, Noxubee County, MS, to Steve Gully and Caroline Johnson Gully.
She married Till Hicks, the son of Joanna Hicks Thomas and the Stepson of Wesley "Wess" Thomas, of Kemper County, MS.
They had ten children, five daughters and five sons.
She died June 10, 1928, at the age of 55.
She was the Wife of Till Hicks; the Mother of Daily Hicks Kirk, John Hicks, Estella Hicks Coolidge, McGary Hicks Coleman, Aridelle "Idell" Hicks Watkins, Melvin Hicks, Murdock "Murk" Hicks, Billy Hicks, Dove Lamar Hicks, and Eunice Hicks; the Daughter of Steve Gully and Caroline Johnson Gully; and the Sister of Charlotte Gully, Mary Gully Coolidge, Rufus Gully, Pinkie Gully, and Cornelia Gully Lenton.
